Well unfortunately it could have been made within the last 10 years, this dowery style trunk is very much like a couple others posted on CW, scroll down through the pictures and you can find them. These trunks/boxes are being made today in places like India, Asia and others places around the world and making their way to the USA. And believe it or not the are made to look hundreds of years old, you would have to get an expert in this area to tell if it is real or a decorative copy.

OK, so you know it's at least 12 years old, my point was If you really think you have something it may be worth checking out with an expert. I wasn't implying that it was a fake, just stating a fact.
Thanks greendog ,,No I got you ,,do you happen to know an expert you can recommend ..Also it has a false floor with aprrox 4"-6" open space between false floor and bottom of trunk.

That's really cool about the false bottom, and no I don't know anyone but you could look for a reputable antique appraiser in your area, good luck !
