Got this trunk from a cleanout job...Thought it was kinda neat, then found Issac Libbey was a pretty good trunk maker, in fact the man I contacted said it had historical interest. Kind of in rough shape cloth covered, and has been dinged up through the years. Prob just put it in yardsale. Leather piece to cover lock ripped off.
Awesome trunk -- could we get some better pics of it - interior and sides too? oh -- love to see the label...
Thanks so much for the additional pics.... pretty cool to have the label in such great shape -- must have been one of his later trunks -- I have seen his smaller hide covered trunks from his earlier period.

Nice to see they made labels in different colors.A hard one to find you don't see them
intact very often.
I may be wrong but, I don't think the interior or label are original, paper looks like wall paper to me, what is the 3.00 mark on the label ? What date would anyone say the trunk is ? To me, the outside looks to be 1800's but inside doesn't. Like I said I could be wrong.
I have seen very similar trunk papers on older trunks used before https://liveauctioneers-res.cloudinary.com/image/upload/d_awaiting_image.png,f_auto,fl_lossy/v1475345/img/1035/66628/33911360_5_x.jpg
It sure is hard to say sometimes from pictures, This is an image of a Zechariah Hicks document box from the early to mid 1800s with the original paper but the pattern seems quite modern to me.It sure could have been redone .
shhh...I made it in my basement!
