For about two months I've been trying to go up in this friends 1938 Piper Cub airplane and today it just so happens he text me and I got to go up flying about 5 o'clock this afternoon. It's a 1938 Piper Cub. It has 90 horse power runs about 75 miles an hour. Something I will never forget! It was a blast! I made a video but I'm not sure if I can get it to post on here. Doesn't really matter it'll always be a great memory! It was the greatest 45 minutes I've had in a long time.

Beautiful little plane i love to fly in these small ones very different from commercial flights
Michael,
I'll bet that was an incredible flight! Awesome looking Piper that your friend has there.
Spent many an hour in them. Great fun plane, but not if you are trying to go somewhere, - especially into the wind.
Cool! but I went in one similar once and puked my guts out.
Glad you had fun!!
Cool looking plane your friend has, Michael, though I'd never get into it myself! Not even a big ol' commercial airplane!.......... If man were meant to fly, he would have been born with wings! Same with boats 'n ships..... would've been born with fins! [;>)))))

Have to share this ! We had this old rag-wing Veronaca Champ that we used for local stuff, like landing on roads to go fishing etc.. (flared out at 30 mph). I kept it in the air with bailing wire since nobody claimed ownership when something broke. All the fluid leaked out of the turn-&-bank indicator, so I tied a nut on a string & hung it from the overhead compass as a joke & to show how desperate I was for parts for it. Got laughs & comments about how much faster it was than the ball in the liquid. When I left there yrs. later, that nut was still hanging from that string & getting laughs ! (It was better)
Blunderbuss2, what a get great memory. Thank you for sharing your story with us. Sounds like you've had a interesting life my friend and you're not done yet. Enjoy your day my friend and thank you again for stopping in!

I spent all of my youth dreaming of airplanes until I made it a career. Hoping to retire soon so that I can get back to dreaming of beautiful low and slow planes like this.
Steve, believe me, it's hard to go back to that s-l-o-w. Just think about 70 knts with a 20 mph headwind. Within a few weeks, you will be looking at pix of P-51's. LOL !!

I've been a passenger in a Dragon Rapide, A Tiger Moth, and a WWII catalina which was great cos you have huge side windows. Not been in your tiny plane.
Thank you GeodeJem for the love! Glad this brought back some great memories. Thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas

Haven't tried those, GeodeJem, but I've flown in the chemical hopper of a duster. Some people have insinuated that it may have affected me. LOL
