I don't know much about this vase except that it is probably Ditmar-Urbach AG, Trnovany, Czechia (Turn-Teplitz, Bohemia, Austria) a factory that was founded by the Urbach brothers and named, Bros Urbach in 1882.
I believe this vase is from the art deco period. It is my understanding that it is called "Alienware" due to its funky glaze and adornments.
My vase has a few scrapes - chips in the glaze and a tiny bit on one part in the pottery itself. But, overall, it's in very good condition. The glaze, while appearing crackly, is very smooth. The last photo is done with a flash.
Do you know anything about Alienware? Please let me know.
I hope you find this as interesting and as beautiful as I do!
A beautiful vase, indeed.
So far I have not been able to find an appropriate term for these 'Alienware' in German or Czech.
I believe that Czechoslovakia mark enables us to date it to some time after 1918. During that period of the factory's production it was run by Richard Lichtenstern in Teplitz-Turn and was known as Ditmar-Urbach AG.
A designer I know who worked there at the time was Bruno Emmel.
Wow Poire!!! it certainly is interesting and "Alienware" is the perfect name isn't it !!!
