Went to the thrift store and saw this really neat Pontiac classic car. My friend said this might be a Chieftain or a Streamliner coup from 1946? Anyone know the model and year of this car?

Maybe? Oops, the grille is different...
Thank you for the info Celiene.
Looks like Silver Streak 1949, closest guess, but the tail lights are slightly different...
The Silver Streak was a design of the Streamliner. It's a 4-door fastback, would make it a coupe sedan model. Still the tail lights confuse me... Being a Canadian vehicle maybe it is an export model, with some differences?
Think I got it now.. Apparently Fleetleader had those tail lights, So 1949 Pontiac Fleetleader 4-door Sedan Coupe (Silver Streak). Made for Canada, so it's extremely rare. Should have a straight 6-cyl engine. My last post on the matter, thanks for sharing!
Yes, it is a 1949 Silver Streak, however, the tail lights look wrong, and the chrome on the side is not there.
..not my last post. The tail lights look wrong because GM in Canada basically took the Chevrolet body and put Pontiac grille and styling on, hence the confusion. Never sold in the US. Here is the 1949 Chevy, see the resemblance of the fastback and tail lights. http://www.seriouswheels.com/1940-1949/1949-Chevrolet-Deluxe-Fastback-Rear-Angle-po.htm
