I have this doll. She has a bisque head and composition ball jointed body. There are no markings on the body and all I can see on the head is a 15 right on the neck of the doll. She has pierced ears and a lovely light coloured bisque. I am struggling to find out who made her. She has two holes on the back of her head but no other writing that I can see. The wig is on really well but it doesn't cover a great portion of the back of the head so if there is any writing behind the wig it would have to be really high up. She is just over 25" tall. I believe the wig is original and she has sleep eyes as you can see from the photos. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks,
    Lee

Hi Doll-Lee , the 15 is just a size number . She looks much like a Kestner doll and I have seen them marked just below rim on top of head ,so if it is not below the 15 maker and mold number are under hair , Would only be a guess if mark is not located . Sometimes it is important to people to know and at the doll hospital and store I worked at we did take off wig to to ID doll so when it was sold we knew who maker was , It can be done carefully without damaging wig. Can you tell if she has a plaster pate under wig on top of head ? That would ID it as a Kestner , So the question is how bad do you want to know maker to remove back of wig ? She is a nice German Bisque doll witha dolly face not a character face and knowing maker would not be important unless selling her . Very Nice doll :-)

Did you gently pull up on head to see if anything is below 15 ?

Hi Manikin, just looked beneath the 15 and there is nothing there. Is there an easy way to release the old glue on the wig? I will be selling her on so could really do with id'ing her. The wig is very tight to the head so I don't want to damage her.
      Many thanks,
      Lee

If you use a damp finger on edges of wig and see if glue softens it should and it is a slow process if glued real tight , usually where it hold tightest is at end and once that is pulled up gently use a wet finger to put a dab of water under wig as you go up .

Hi Manikin, luckily it was only the edges that were glued so I've got it off. There's about 100 years of cobwebs under the wig, lol. Anyway, I got it off and it says 192. Her head is perfect. The pate has disintegrated a bit and looks to be some form of plaster if that makes sense.
      Thanks,
      Lee

Sorry, just reread your first answer. Does the pate make her a kestner? I've seen 192 as Kammer and Reinhardt too so I'm just wondering how I tell which she is.
      Thanks,
      Lee

Thanks Manikin. I've now put her up for sale so hopefully she'll find a new home. Having done some more research I'm pretty sure she's a kestner so I'll mark this as solved.
      Thanks,
      Lee
