I got this piece at a junk shop in Oakland, CA today for 50 cts. I think it's late Qing Tongzhi or Guanxhu? i am not real clear on what that means, but it's what i've been told so far. it gets old asking people to explain what they mean all the time!
i call this a good practice piece because it is damaged, but mostly intact.
Neat item -- I have NO clue on the dating or the marks on it!!

So, the fb chinese ceramics specialists have determined that this is a genuine handpainted Tongzhi mark and period [1862-1874].

Good article about this type of ceramic and why it is so different in style and decorations. Finding lots of these online sites and interesting to have as well. Looked up posts about it, and found yours, very nice.
