Many thanks for the info on this piece provided to me in the comments.
Not being a Glass collector--nor a wine drinker, I had no clue what I had, thinking it a very tall and lovely vase. Now I have to locate a proper stopper. I'll go searching thru Antique shops in their"miscellaneous" boxes!
That ought to keep me out of trouble.
I will add more photos tomorrow and maybe someone can tell from the top. and inside the top what kind of a stopper will be acceptible if I can't come up with a genuine replacement.
Reminds me of peppermints - BTW, have some peppermint handy before that kiss (LOL) - Cheers, - Bob
Those round. red and white striped candy ones or swipe a candy cane from the Christmas Tree!( Also useful for the mistletoe.) Thanks, Bob!

Gorgeous!!
Great news! Thanks!
Now I have to find the misplaced stopper. I am not encouraged, I would have lost it decades ago.. In the time that passed I dumbly thought it was a vase! Now where will I find a stopper that vaguely looks like what is missing here?? Much less the right one!!
It's a lovely bottle that you should display proudly PCC!
Yes, smells like peppermint! I have a pitcher and cruet in the same glass but have never seen anything that size. Wonderful!
My monitor is on the fritz!! I have a hard time with it. Will get back on as soon as I can. Thanks to all who wrote in comments and "love"!!!.
