Laz-E-Rest Footstool

I was given this Laz-E-Rest Adjustable Hassock by my grandma. My grandma bought this piece for my grandpa for Father's Day sometime in the 1970's. My grandpa thought it was the ugliest thing he had ever seen and he wouldn't even use it. My mother, two aunts, and uncle thought it was ugly and wanted nothing to do with it. It sat in the grandparents basement unloved for over 40 years. I remember playing with my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on it when I was a kid. I always liked the foot stool and it has a mid century design. I asked my grandma if I could have the foot stool when she was in 90's. My grandma was not the kind of person who liked to let anyone else have her things. Since I knew my family never liked the foot stool I thought I might have a chance to get it. I asked her and she said to take it. She couldn't believe out of all the things in her house that was the item I wanted. The item is in perfect condition since nobody wanted to use it. The foot stool now sits in my guest bedroom and is finally loved.
