I went over to her place this morning to do a little horse trading. Some of my stuff for some of her stuff. She was so pleased with the stuff I brought her that she gave me some little presents (aside from the silver and whatnot I traded with her). I found this necklace in a wicker basket of what she termed "junk". I think this "junk" is beautiful! I have not one clue what kind of stones those red and lime green/yellow stones are, so I hope one of you CWers will know. The smaller stones are turquoise and onyx, as far as I can tell. The barrel clasp looks to be of the older variety.
I'm going to sell my wares at the local antique/brocante market tomorrow, so will be wearing my pretty necklace.
Thanks for stopping!

I expect you're right, val. The yellow/greenish ones seem to give off sort of a "glow" under certain lighting!
Thanks for the good wishes. I will definitely have fun tomorrow...Malva is showing up early to see what I'm selling!!
I love this!
Happy selling - wish I was there :(
karen - it's always a hustle and bustle to get the stall set up while early birds are hanging around to see what comes out of my crates...
Great necklace!!! Sounds like such a great market!!!
Judy - the market was extremely fruitful for me today. I sold 3/4 of my jewelry and half of my ceramics, so can now afford to go out and buy more jewelry!
Judy - when the day comes when all my silver and gold has finally been sold off, I will still have my pretty stone necklace!
:-)))))
Glad you had a good sales day at your market.......I really should do that, but I am too attached to things now, which I suppose would be different if I was buying just to sell!!
I don't really buy or find to buy very much these days....... I have got too choosy now so am mainly looking for things that I don't have an example of now and they are usually too pricey anyway to buy!!
I have one favourite stone necklace too that I have had for years.......whenever I can't decide what to wear, this is the one I always grab!!!
With Valentino about dyed, nice color combo on this chunky necklace!
Bonnie, I'm sure you're as good at selling as at buying :-))))
Oh I see what you are saying about the stones in this verses my turquoise look stones, they are shaped exactly (or very closely) the same. I was hoping it may be real but it was still worth the lesson. Btw, do you know of a way for a beginner to tell the real from the dyed? Thanks for showing me this! It is unique=pretty.
I've always been a gold fan, but that's out of my price range now and it seems that silver is growing rather nicely on me:~))
