My mother died a month ago and among the items I brought back from her home is this clock which she and my dad brought out to NZ with them when they emigrated. My parents always referred to it as the Herrgottsuhr (Mr God Clock) and I know that it was one of many clocks my late grandfather collected (probably in the late 1800s) in his travels through Germany. I have done all manner of Google searches and have not found anything remotely like it! Is anyone able to give me any information about its age or possible maker? The clock chalet is 660mm tall without the chains. It still works and chimes (could wake the dead actually)!
It looks homemade . Pictures of the mechanism would help to identify time line .
Have just added a couple of photos of the side and workings.
