Can anyone tell me if this is Japanese or Chinese, what era is it from? is it an antique? It's about 15 cm in length, heavy-ish little vase seems to be painted and carved, they may images of men doing some kind of puppeteering on it I can't quite work it out, there is no stamping on the base or anywhere that I can see ... Would love to know a little more .. thank you :)

well i got same dating problems, the lack of a mark aint a problem , they used to be signed in what has been called the chengua nian zhi form ( so without da ming, )

which is de 1465-1487 period , well actually it is fin de siecle ( = around 1900)called pseudo bronzes = the brown borders, but even that type of ware is faked , but this is real fin de siecle ( 1900) although the quality is mediocrethe

the crackles are flooded are flooded which means ferro sedimentation is inside the crackles

the scenen is IMO part of the scenen of the BATTLE OF THE THREE KINGDOMES ( 220-280)everij chinese army got flag swayers

the brown around the vase is the hype of imitating bronze ( late qing bronze is dark brown, it is called pseudo bronzes
