Here's a great little fan put out by the Rexall Drug Co. circa the 1950s. It works well and is quite quiet (compared to my other fan, which exploded with sparks).
It even features a safety plug-- as in, it has a fuse in it.
As a note of interest, I turned it in to test it at the store. When I unplugged it, I noticed a large bug holding on inside in the vent. It must have received quite the shock, yet it was still very much alive.
The thing I don't like about this fan is, it has no switch to turn it off. One must unplug it.
I cleaned it out and oiled it up. Pictures before cleaning exterior.

I am thinking it is an Al Bersted product. The ones he made under the "Eskimo" name tend to look similar.

Not quite the same but congruent.
It is fairly common for one speed fans work by plugging in and unplugging especially drug store fans.
It is indeed fairly similar.
I just wish I had a plug with a switch in it, so I could flip the switch rather than keep pulling it out. Surprisingly, the cord is in amazing shape.
Sometimes they used an inline switch on the cord. Electric fans tend have replaced cords. Some people recommend replacing the cord in fact. I don't usually do that myself but do plug them into a protected power strip.
I've dealt with in-line switches but don't know the gauge of wire. I, for the most part, trust vintage wiring. I will just continue to pull it out by the plug-head, unless I find a cheap, suitable outlet with switch.
