I love this just got it it's got a Buick badge on the front is almost all intact no rust holes just surface rust I am being told its from the 1920's glad to have it I was considering restoring but I'm gonna leave it
I would restore it myself but that's me, love it either way. I did see a restored one sold at auction for $1400 :)
This has the classic style that I would love to tackle.
Yeah I'm still trying to figure out what to don't really wanna do a full restore
When something is not rusted thru, I think, restore. Looks too easy not to ! Go for a rat-rod then. LOL !
Nice!!! I saw your post on Facebook:) good to see its you. Awesome find!!
Thanks Trey!
You may have already learned this but, your car is a 1924 American National Buick. American National introduced this style of Buick in '24. The following year American National changed the front fender design on all their fendered cars.
I didn't know that but thank you we were not sure on the year or maker
Was it originally used as a barber chair?
If there is no pedal mechanism underneath then it likely was. The American National Buicks were quite often used for barber chairs. At second glance at your photos, the seat bottom also looks to be raised/elevated. That was the case with the barber shop chair cars. What did you end up doing with the car?
This is so cool!!
I'm having it professionally restored should be done in the next few months
That's great. I'm sure it will become a family treasure. Hope you share follow photos to this post once it is completed.
Will do!
I'm looking for some photos to do a color scheme if you have any I would love to see them Amnatcars
If you do an "image" search on Google "American National Buick Pedal Car Barber Chair" you will see a really nice 1929 example painted in maroon with orange trim. The 1924 finish is describe in the American National catalog as: Pea Green decorated and striped in yellow and white. The 1927 catalog describes the finish as: Light Chrome Green with Forest Green panel, white and yellow striping. The trunk is traditionally black. The main thing to consider is "what do you like". You have to live with it so I would encourage you to choose colors that you can live with. The Google search results should offer you guidance on how the trim and striping looked originally.
Thanks again I appreciate the help
