I finally went to an Estate Sale today, left the Flea early today, and saw the sign on the way home. The seller had some antiques, and collectibles, so right up my alley!
First was this hand painted porcelain water pitcher, unmarked, so not sure of its age. It looks like a blank, for a decorating coop, maybe late 1800s to 1920s?, it's really pretty, and can't go wrong a hummingbird and morning glories, well with my wife anyway! :^) The little bit of gold leaf on the rim and handle, and a scallop top, doesn't hurt. It's 7 3/8" tall, 6" wide, and 7" across the top from handle to spout, with the handle extending out 1 3/4".
Next is a little porcelain toothpick holder, with small hand painted flowers, and lavender/blue base, and a little touch of gold leaf, at the top, another coop piece also. It's 2 1/8" tall, 1 1/2" wide at the top, and flaring to 2" at the base. A scalloped 6 sided shape with a flowing drape design.
Last is a little happy black duckling, by Californian Pottery of the 1940s to 1950s, Ross Original's. He's 4 1/2" tall and 3" wide front to back, and 3" wing tip to wing tip. He's black with mustard yellow feet and bill, white chest and detailing, and a pink tongue.
Really lovely pieces!!
Thanks TassieDevil, I really thought the water pitcher was nice, and just 1 more little toothpick holder can't hurt! :^) I have a soft spot for California Pottery, and a cute duckling, well, what could I say against that!
Thank you both aura, and Tassie, for the loves! :^)
I know exactly what you mean Bill....some things you just have to take home!!! and you are very welcome!
