Hello CW friends!
I recently found this Barnard Brothers flat top canvas covered trunk for an amazing price and bought it right away. It's in really nice condition and only required a good cleaning and polishing.
It was made by Barnard Brothers Trunk Co., in Worcester, Mass. They were in business from 1876 until about 1930. This trunk would have been made around the 1900-1930 period.
It's covered in an olive green canvas, iron bound with hundreds of copper (probably copper plated nails), and lined with an olive green print fabric. The latches have the Barnard Bros. logo embossed into them. Though the original tray is missing, it doesn't seem to take away from the looks of the interior. Both leather handles are in perfect condition as well.
This one didn't hang around long enough for me to properly photograph as it sold the very day I finished cleaning it. Which is fine with me, as it was just going to get stacked in my shop anyway. So, I'm glad it found a good home quickly.
Thanks for stopping to have a look!

In and out quickly so you didn't get attached. Lol always love these flat tops Scotty well done.
Roy,
Yep, I like it when they don't hang around long. I already have several flat top trunks anyway. So, no big loss to me. Especially since it's not a unique or rare trunk. Those stay with me:)
Thanks everyone for the loves and appreciations

I can see why it sold quickly Scott. A good looking trunk, and the flat top is useful as a table I guess.
Thanks Karen!!
These big flat tops make wonderful storage as well as coffee tables. I'd love to have kept it, but I just didn't need another flat top. I have plenty as it is:)

Yep, a customer had already made an appointment to see some trunks and she saw this one and took it. So, like I said, I only had time to photograph it with my iPhone before it left my shop.
