(1 item)
I purchased this today. I was told by the seller it is from the 1940's. It was his grandmothers.
I'm looking for any marking, but couldn't locate.
This looks to be brass and marble and is very heavy.
There appears to be a dragon design (looks like ducks to me) in brass, pic 4.
Can someone tell me where to look for marking? I don't want to find a "made in China" sticker, but I'd actually like to know where this was made, maybe find out the manufacturer Fire more information. It's really good looking.
Please excuse photos. Having floor redone so could not place lamp in proper place.
Thank you for your consideration.
Renee
They used a period 1920's lamp base. That is what is called a marriage of parts, as this "shade" never came originally with the lamp.
The glass ( not marble ) was made by Houze Glass in Port Marion PA. Made in the 20's and 30's. This glass was made with uranium oxide and will glow a bright green under long wave uv light. (Poster blacklight ) It is slag glass .
