This is the little Van Briggle pitcher I found in the thrift store.
Not that I need more pitchers in my collection of pottery but hey we all have our weakness for certain shapes and etc.
I know little about Van Briggle so I have posted this piece on FB to Van Briggle Group.
Researching this piece with the initial "DW" I found this info on the site below;
http://clemhull.com/BottomMarkings.html
I found a DW on there and they have Don Wills with the DW initials-son of potter Fred Wills. It states that Don mostly demonstrated on the potters wheel for tourists. Did not produce a large quantity of work.
Any who that's all I have for now hopefully I will get some more info from that FB group. Maybe someone will have info on the dates Don was there.
By the way this little pitcher was priced 0.98 Cents (before tax)
so I don't think I over paid ;)
Great info given from FB This is a mold piece not by Don Wills. DW is the initials of finisher Dorothy Webster 1970s.
