trunkman
(149 items)
Here is a beautiful unusual trunk. The tin on it I believed has been lithographed with a faux wood finish. The hardware has been brass plated which is the first I have seen. The interior is intact and well done. I was hoping someone might be able to identify the hardware with the two x's on the sides. Any info on this would be appreciated.... ps. vintage spirograph box back of third pic... HA! the things you can do with that...
Good looking trunk T-man, I'm thinking Session hardware.

I love this one trunk man! Those slats of wood alternating with the tin lithograph pieces is striking!
Oh WOW, you did get it!! Lucky you. Nice trunk T-man. I love everything about it and that interior is just outstanding!! Wonderful find!
Great find, such nice complete condition! I've seen very few of the wood grain finished metal trunks in nice condition. And the brass plated hardware of that type is pretty rare. Not sure which company made that style hardware, but I do have an old Neumann Trunk Hardware company, Newark NJ, catalog which shows the wood grain finish sheet metal. They made it in four styles and colors including Quartered Oak, Curly Hungarian Ash, Rosewood, and Quartered Sycamore. I had one once with the dark Rosewood metal. This one looks like their quartered oak. But other parts companies probably made some too.
