I do like these small stools, and finally found one that wasn't round. One leg is slightly longer than the rest and needs to be evened out. Other than that, it's an extremely rugged bit of kit.
Mystery Solved.
I'm just going to agree with all the comments below :<]]]]]]]] and call it an *Oak Maple Shedwork Work Bench for Elves*.
:-))))))
Thanks for coming by!
Bonnie
So cool with his "dancing" legs! :-D
Very nice. I would thing this is oak which is a heavy wood. My first thought was a milking stool bench, but not sure as it looks too nice, not much used if it was in a barn (country girl eyes here) lol
Pascale >"Dancing" legs!! :=))))))) Normally, the legs are straight. I have a three legged milking stool in my livingroom that has a huge carved Winnie The Poo, with his jar of honey, residing on top of it.
JI - I also thought oak because it is so dense. I don't know one wood from another, in most cases. :=))))
Bonnie,
The grain and density of the wood, and the fact that it's heavy, tells me that this could be maple wood. It's very reminiscent of a milking stool.
Looks like a Milking stool to me too....and I would say Oak too.
Would look lovely in the summer with a trailing plant on it
Birthing stool?
(just trying to freak you out......)
Rose - I have an old milking stool and it's much taller than this one, which is just nine inches high. My milking stool is nearly 15 inches high.
Karen > Birthing stool? YIKES! LOL!!
Rose - a trailing plant is an invitation to my cats..."bat bat bat...". :-)))) I don't have any plants in my house.
@Efesgirl -- my aunt ( through marriage ) was from Arnhem
.....also if this is only 9 inches tall, maybe for Miking Goats ????
I think it's fairly new, maybe pallet oak, made to look old, "Pier One Imports"? Just a thought. :^) Or just a foot stool, made as a school project. Nice though, and can't beat the price!
@bill - I did wonder if it was recycled from something else. LOL not Pier One!
@Rose - Arnhem is about 1 1/2 hours from me.
It does look like a workbench of some sort, but there's no wear on it, which suggests it's either a reproduction, or used in work that was very light.
katherine - not a work bench. It's only nine inches high, 6.5 inches wide and 13.5 inches long.
Silly........It is a WORK BENCH for Santa elves.......LOL
LMAO@Rose!!
@Efesgirl -- Well it makes sense....LOL
