I acquired this Inuit trompe l'oeil freeform sculpture several years ago at auction. It's one single piece of soapstone that has been worked to fool the eye. It looks like smooth marble arms cradling a granite egg.
I love the use of texture and shadow, there's a great sense of spatial awareness in this piece.
It's large, almost 20" tall, and weighs about 60 pounds.
It is signed LIMAC, which initially led me down the wrong path and in the wrong direction. I have seen several pieces by this artist in the past year or two, and have been able to purchase one other of his pieces, which I will post here asap.

I would like to seek advice from the member who posted this object, "Inuit trompe l'oeil soapstone sculpture - LIMAC" two years ago. Bun-bun?
I have three stone carvings signed LiMAC and I am unable to find out anything about this artist. I am particularly fascinated by this sentence: "It is signed LIMAC, which initially led me down the wrong path and in the wrong direction." Bun-bun, if you are reading this please help to save this mystery - maya.haddow@gmail.com
