LOOK at the incredible gold work on their headpieces! Ceramics, heavily gilded in real gold, clearly hand painted. Signed on the back of the Woman (queen?), Babs... Anyone ever heard of Babs? Looks like Babs.
She is 5 inches long, he is slightly smaller, at 4.5 inches. Are these Siamese or Balinese? Are the both females, do you think? Anyone ever seen similar? Based on when everything 'Siam-related' was popular, I'd guess these are from the 50's?
Perhaps it's supposed to be "Bali" rather than "Babs". :/
Geepers, paint so nice and write so crappy....
I found these, the left one is exactly like my 'man' one. But the rightone here is different. Ceramic painting places (like Color Me Mine) must have been popular for longer than I thought. Anyone know anything about that?

Celiene, to me, from the back, like you said, these look like ceramics class pieces. Very well painted, and the gold leaf is great. Nice find! :^)
Thnaks Bill!
Oh was it in ceramics classes? That makes more sense in the 1950's. I didn't think they had shops to do this back then. Do you think it was mail in, like in early 20th century? Somehow, you would need access to a kiln!
CYBILL SHEPHERD! I've been dying to remember who the one on the left reminds me of!
These have "Character"....very nice
Kedrry Thank you, yes they do!
