Hello all! I've been negligent in my postings for two months and I've missed this group! Today I am taking a moment from the holiday preparations to post a few of my favorite Christmas memories. I am a fan of Christmas present with my grandchildren, children, friends and family. But, just as many of you, I have wonderful memories of my past and I choose to decorate my home with keepsakes and purchased items that take me back to those happy days of my youth.
The first photo is a memory wreath I made several years ago using photos of mine and my husband's along with ornaments from the 40's thru the 60's. The wreath is "busy" but I like it.
The second is of the Gurley candles that were everywhere when I was a girl. We had snowmen and santas and deer and carolers...
Third photo is a vintage santa suit I received as a gift from my sister in law. Wonder how many years Santa wore this one. It's pretty worn.
Last is a collection of plastic deer, photographs and Christmas cards, an old tree skirt, santa claus and tree lights displayed under a glass topped coffee table.
As always, you'd be hard pressed to find anything new in my house. I love antique and vintage and the memories they invoke.
    Merry Christmas to everyone! Mary

A memory wreath- what a great idea! OMG - how did those candle survive all these years? I remember them well, too. That suit looks like 1940's! I want to see that entire table! Did you make it?

Celiene, thanks for the compliments! I did not make the table. These are made using recycled windows for the tops. I love mine and change the display with the seasons. I'll post some photos of the table today. I made the memory wreath and last year I made memory wreaths for my daughters using ornaments and cards from their childhood.
thanks to TassieDevil, jscott, fortapache and racer4four for sharing my love of vintage!
thanks for the loves CindB, Caperkid, vetraio50,mikelv85, TassieDevil, clockerman, Jlman and racer4four.
