This is an extremely rare & unusual double hand vase. It is made from a single layer of opaque white milk glass, & features two clasped hands - look closely & you'll notice that the two hands are slightly different in size, one is larger (I guess meant to be the masculine hand) & the other smaller (the feminine hand). I have been collecting hand vases since 1995, & had actually stopped collecting for a few years (too much stuff!) but when I saw this, I "fell off the wagon"...
No markings, no idea of the maker but I am guessing Bohemian.
It measures 20 cm tall, 11 cm across the tightly crimped top rim, & 8 cm across the base, which has a rough, snapped pontil mark.
This is definitely a fun piece Lace :-) Welcome to see CW!
Interesting vase! :)
Thanks so much Rick55 & katherines collections! I'm feeling very welcome here already - love seeing what other collectors have, too!
I love this! Don't think I would have left the store without it either.

Very cool piece IronLace!
Hi IronLace, I'm amazed I missed this for so long, specially as it's your profile pic & I see it everyday!lol. I'm not surprised you fell off the wagon, it's really strange and wonderful
Fantastic!
Absolutely amazing!! I've never seen a two-handed glass hand vase before! I can see why this is one of your favourites!
I honestly couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this, & I was even more astonished to win it.
I'd actually been tipped off about this one by another hand vase collector, who I was in touch with from time to time. I believe that he was one of the underbidders, & sadly I never did hear from him again after I won it...I imagine that he rather regretted letting me know about it!
Lol! Great story - I NEVER tell anyone about my finds until after they are delivered and in my hands!
