Adlake railroad lamp found in my grandfathers basement in about 1980. Whats intriguing about it is the wooden handle.

Hi, Does your lantern have a railroad name on it? Wooden or rubber handles often appear on railroads or street car lines where electric 3rd rails are present. This prevented the lantern holder from being zapped if the lantern came in contact with the 3rd rail. Examples would be Long Island RR, New York Central RR, etc. By the way, in lantern terminology, the lantern is called the "bale".
