I am not sure if this is some kind of a vase or rather a small jardinière. It appears to be hand-painted and I think it is rather old.

I think you have a jardiniere. Possibly german or austrian made. BEAUTIFUL!

Beautiful! Sometimes I call that shape a rose bowl, don't know if that is correct or not but a beautiful jardinière all the same!
I love these old hand painted items too. Funny how I can think I have one thing yet it turns out to be something totally different. That's when I decide I'll use it for what I want it to be ;) Happy Holidays!

Thanks for your comment, shareurpassion. I know how this feels. In this case, I believed it was a vase but when I had a second look after I came home I figured it was a jardinière - but anyway, I will put some nice flowers in!
