I found this great little dresser with the intention of using it as a new bathroom vanity. I'm curious now as to how old it might be. I'm having second thoughts about cutting a hole in the top if it's as old as I think it may be! There are no tags or markings of any kind except for something hand written on the back. I believe it's the initials "N E T" and "Spring Grove". I think it is made from Oak. The drawers are dovetailed and the cuts are irregular in shape and size. It has wooden caster wheels and it has been put together with small nails. It also has holes in the back where a mirror was attached at one time.
Any thoughts?!
It would make a good vanity . It has been refinished so lost much of it's value and they used to dark of a stain for period . I have one like it :-)
Manikin- How old is your dresser?
I think it had several layers of paint on it at one time as well! I did notice there are some different shades along the edges of the drawers. ????
