I would never have thought that I could find 1 Tepco Pottery Skull Mug at the flea market for $10., but this past Sunday I got 3 of them for $10., what a surprise! Right after I posted a group of, made for Trader Vic's Skull Mugs. These 3 are in perfect condition, and for me a GREAT find! :^)
These are the first Skull Mugs made for Trader Vic's Restaurant, known as the long jaw Skull Mug, they would put dry ice in the bottom hole, so smoke would come out of the eyes nose and teeth holes, for drink presentation. The 3 on the bottom, pic.1,2,and 3, and the center 3, in pic.4, are Tepco, the other 2 round jaw ones are made by other companies.
Tepco Pottery started in Richmond, California, and moved to a new plant in El Cerrito, California, where these were made. the plant closed in 1968.
LOL my kind of mug!
Yeah Bonnie, I put the tea light in 2 of them like you suggested of the other post! :^)
