    Picked up this nice oil painting on canvas I think it's of the virgin Mary but I'm not sure. Im guessing an to say it's from the 50s but looks a bit older but I'm not sure. Please feel free to tell me anything you know about this or any other of my items thanks.

      This is a print on a board, not an original. It's one of the versions of Murrillo's Immaculate Conception painting. The name on the back is the retailer.

      Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if it was a print cause the surface is hard like wood an not like paper.

      Prints on board and canvas can throw people off. It's why I always have to touch the piece. There's texture on even this, but more so on real oil paintings. This should have a more slippery surface than an oil painting, too. There are no brush marks-- but don't let apparent brush marks throw you off on other prints. Makers can add those in too.
