Here is the result, I'm very happy with this, but of all the bright colors this artist uses why couldn't it be one of them...but I'm happy either way. Paint stripper made the paint slide off very fast, and my husband is not in the dog house for using paint stripper while I was doing other things and distracted. I can only guess that someone wanted this vase to better match their decor? My husband is a globally certerfied coatings inspector, but knows nothing about glass....lol and he suggest a paint stripper that will make the paint just slide off. But I'd love to know what you peeps think as how to best remove this paint? Thank you so much. Merry Christmas!
What about this idea?

Merry Christmas Karenoke!!!
Thank you Efesgirl! I think I like this idea better, and I have everything needed here at the house. I can't wait to see it clean. I'll post photos when it's paint free.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Thank you jscotto363, and Merry Christmas to you and yours as well!
Thanks for all the love everyone!
I expect it to be more lovable when it's paint free.
Merry Christmas!
Looking forward to seeing it!
Thanks racer4four!
I was trying the gentle way suggested, and I'd taken a week...lol
So while I was taking a break and doing other things, my husband took a can of paint stripper to it....so glad I didn't catch him at it! But it doesn't seem to have hurt it...lucky for him! I will post it again after Christmas. May you're Christmas be merry and bright!
Yep! Sounds about right - my guy procrastinates about stuff constantly but when I try to do things with patience and delicacy he's all rip shit bust!
Merry Christmas to you too, from Down Under :)
I would trust a paint remover over boiling liquids, actually. The cooler vase could crack under the hot liquid. Happens in the bottle world.
Thank you SpiritBear! I'm glad he done it now, just glad I didn't know it then.
Merry Christmas!
I've used sulphuric acid on glass before without damaging it. LOL.
Looks great! I like the combo of colours and decor of it. Nice glass this!
Oh wow SpiritBear, I think sulphuric acid is what is used to etch glass isn't it?
But whatever works is how I see it. I'm a big believer in Goof Off, it's great for removing sticky of thrift store stickers...and permanent marker as well.
Thanks for your comment! And happy new year!
Thanks racer4four, I love it, but I'd love bright colors more....lol
Happy new year!
Never damaged it for me. Maybe certain types of glass.
Thanks Brunswick!
SpiritBear, I was happy it worked without causing damage. And I would do it myself next time, without concern.
Thanks for the comments, much appreciated!
