Milwaukee Tank Works Company 5 Year pin

This is a sterling silver and dark blue enamel lapel pin, about 15 mm in diameter. This pin has a hinged pin on the back and is marked “B&U Co. Sterling”. B&U is for Bunde and Upmeyer which was a high quality jewelry manufacturer in Milwaukee from the 1880’s to 1940. The front of the pin has “MILWAUKEE” across the center in large letters. In the top half in smaller letters is “MILWAUKEE TANK WORKS” and in the bottom half is “5 YEAR CLUB OIL PUMPS TANKS”. The Milwaukee Tank Works Company was in operation from around 1911-1935.
The company is well known to collectors of automobile and petroleum items for their high quality see through gasoline pumps.
