I can assure you this was not fun to bring home.
It would fit in the back of my car, so I had to put it in the trunk (with rubber bumpers so the wood wouldn't get damaged) and used 6 bungy cords (2 wrapped all the way around) and 2 red WARNING flags.
It was mainly held in by gravity and friction, which forced one end of the trunk to stick firmly into my trunk.
I was so horrified when I drove over the railroad tracks and the trunk jumped up and came down on the piece (I had tried to secure it tightly before driving).
There is what looks like a 1 next to 940 X on the back. 1940??
The man who helped me put it in my car at the thrift store said his parents bought the matching set 70 years ago, and it cost them $200 for the whole set back in the day.
I really don't have room for a dresser, but the price was more than right. I may have to re-do the veneer on two drawers, and I'd like to replace the top knobs with ones that look like they go.
Any one know any thing on this?
Looks like classic deco to me-- certainly 2nd quarter, 20th century.

Thank you, Scottvez.
This was quite bulky.
Fine looking dresser. For your next car get a hatchback but not a truck. If you get a truck you will have to help people move.
LOL, Fort Apache. I almost got a hatch-back but got there pretty much minutes too late. It was a bit girly, though, so it wasn't too much of a loss.
Love the Delivery Truck..... :-)
LOL, thank you, Kerry.
I called it Waterfall Depression furniture.
