Some of the Jewelry I found at the dump, over a few years.
I've not really looked up on any of these. They are some gold, silver with some lovely stones but that's all I know.
I will take them somewhere to cheek them out and see it there is anything special in there.
Geepers creepers!!!
Look for:
333 = 8 kt
375 = 9 kt
585 =14K
750 =18K
800 - silver
835 - silver
900 - silver
925 - sterling silver
935 - silver
If you find any strange marks, post them here.
I wish the photos was cleaner, they look a bit dull.
Those are the marks to look for on any piece of jewelry you find.
10KP, for example, is 10K plumb gold:
For example, 14KP, or even 585KP. The KP stands for "Karat Plumb". Obviously the Karat refers to the purity of the gold, while the plumb can be considered to mean 'exact', in the same way that a 'plumb' wall is exactly vertical or a 'plum' surface is exactly horizontal.
Photos taken in natural daylight are much better. The artificial light/flash doesn't show the jewelry properly.
Fab finds!!!!
Nice finds. I see a few that I wouldn't mind having.
Do you Metal Detect there?
Thank you, Efesgirl, for the education on the marks. Being new to my appreciation for antiques, I truly appreciate when you all share the knowledge and history you have learned.
Yeah this site is great for sharing information.
I am so thankful that people inform me on some of the things I post on here.
