I found this in a costume jewelry pile yesterday, I almost put it back before I saw the shank because it certainly does NOT look like fine jewelry.
It was custom-made in three pieces. They took an old shank, soldered that on to a bezel, and soldered THAT on to this big honkin' bejeweled thing that may have been a brooch.
Isn't it wild?? The thing weighs 23 grams! Thanks for looking everyone, and a happy new year to you all.

Nope, no marks at all, I had to look at it a good while to determine if was REALLY gold. I've never seen such a thing and it really, really looked like costume jewelry

Why would someone go to all that trouble for a costume ring? It does look like gold in the photos. Do you see any evidence of base metal anywhere? If it were mine, I would take it for testing at the jewelers.
