I came across this piece a few days ago. It measures 12" X 9", it has a metal collar and weighs 8pounds. Murano glass is not my strong suit and I could use some input from Murano collectors. I believe it to be Murano glass in a Scavo decor. There is a signiture on the base which I canot decipher. The only piece I could find on the internet close to this piece has green tinted metal rings thru the handles and no signiture.
I'm guessing it is from the 1950s-60s. Any assistance with the signiture and approx. date would be greatly appreciated.
Looks like it says Seguso and they did a fair bit of scavo with cool little additions like the rim and little flippitydids on this.
Thank you very much. Does the signature form indicate any time line
I would think around the 1960s/70s, although I admit Murano glass is not my field.
The signature is hard to read but I think it says; Seguso v d'arte (Seguso Vetri D'arte) and the item number of the edition run - 518/1000 ?.
Great Solve, Karen !!!!!
Many thanks racer4four . I appreciate you taking the time to help.
Thanks Vet - I scrape the depths on occasion.
Seguso Vetri d'Arte. From the 80ties. Not earlier. Design Vittorio Rigattieri.
