I have five wood block prints all from the same artist they are of Whaler ships and ships in a storm one of a whale is titled "Breaching Whale" They have dates written in pencil from the 1950's They are all signed in pencil but I cant make out the name? One has written in pencil working proof the plate being reworked 1957. They range in size from 11 x 16 " ,12 x 13", 10 x 14", 8 x 13 1/2", the smallest 7 x 9 1/2". One is intitled " Last Line Aboard". Just got them yesterday I love Thrift shops. Signature is written in right hand conner and on on print is this red stamped circle. There is also some asian letters but they might just be from the printer they dont seem to be in the style of Japanese woodblock print???? Anyone got any ideas?

...note comment on your other listing of these. Also note the mention of the red circle imprint!

Glad to help. Most of the folks on here aren't selfish...they're old! I'll bet that there are a dozen people that know all about these prints. But by the time they do the research they forget why they were looking it up. The original item is three pages deep on CW so they find a piece of Fenton to look up! LOL

These engravings and one woodblock print are by Irving Groupp he was an american artist and these are all from the 50's.
