This one is special to me because of my personal history. I was there that Autumn Night in 1971 at the University of New Hampshire - sat in the back row of the bleachers with a heart throb of mine for what had to be the strangest concert line-up - ever. Seriously... John Mclaughlin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra followed by Blue Oyster Cult followed by the headliner - The Byrds! In fact a decade or so later John McLaughlin said in a magazine interview it was the worst concert he ever performed at. I recall someone yelling when John was performing "GET OFF THE STAGE"! Seems the Mahavishnu Orchestra did not quite fit in with the crowd who was there for the next two groups... Loved seeing the Byrds in their prime though... I think it was after the concert - but likely could have been before - we the freshmen college students were walking down to the bars in Durham and I saw this poster on a telephone pole and commented how much I liked it. A somewhat inebriated young lady I knew ripped it off the pole for me. So glad she did - it sits framed on our living room as I type.
Incredible! It is awesome that you have the original poster. And better yet, were there at the concert. I have a lot of rock posters as well. Mahavishnu & B.O.C. are 2 of my favs. Thanx for sharin!
Thanks Iggy! Rock posters are a great collecting field - I had a group of nice ones that I unfortunately sold when I retired - seller's remorse. This one though, I was there and recall the concert well.

Hey filmnet - your sister was in NH for 25 years and LEFT? ...Left Paradise? ...Six weeks of summer wasn't enough? Ha ha. Well glad you got to experience this part of the world in your life journey, but sitting here in January - South Carolina sounds like a magnificent choice.
My older sister living in NH. older brother in Ma.
Your history to this makes it great!
Thanks Karenoke!
Agreed... very strange bill. But all three acts were on Columbia which must have something to do with it. I went with a drummer who wanted me to see Billy Cobham, but I was more interested in the Cult. Maha scared the hell out of me... way too intense... and I had to leave the room for a while. But I remember this took place at Stony Brook U on Long Island. I guess I was stoned enough not to know we were driving to Cortland.
