This décor is a teal green and oxblood splatter on a cadmium yellow base, cased in clear glass. It's not that common as Welz décors go.

I really bought them because the clear rigaree exactly matches that on the pink stripey vase. Further proof that the pink one is indeed Welz.....if any were needed.

There are quite a few variations on this shape, the pink being one of them.

Thanks scott. I think that these and the pink one have particularly nice shapes.

Looking at the serpentine form of the glass, and almost Egyptian feel, got to be Post 1922? Think about pharonic headgear?

An interesting comment, Ian. Certainly the opening of Tutankhamen's tomb made all things Egyptian trendy. But think of the charleston, flappers, short dresses, short hair and Tango Glass...... would this ornamented style have had a market when embracing modernity was the thing!

I have a small collection of Welz glass that has clean lines and no rigaree, but is not Art Deco in style or décor, because I believe that change comes gradually.

That said my opinion is no worthier than yours as there are no facts beyond the glass, which we may well see differently. I know one person who never mentions period for this stuff for that very reason.

Welz loved to play around with trim didn't they!! So cool.
I thought of Pharaohs too when I saw the shape, but as you say, that's just my perception.

These are wonderful, the shape of the rigaree is really quirky & fun! The little spatter jug with leaf feet is familiar to me, as I have the same shape jug in pale yellow stripes with pink feet, & a small candlestick too.

Hi Karen, when I see that particular rigaree I think of the hands of Balinese (?) dancers!

Thank you, IronLace. Yellow stripes and pink feet!! ...... something to look forward to :)

What rich, beautiful colors Peggy! What I also love is how the rigaree points in opposite directions... They remind me of the graceful, outstretched arms of a flamenco dancer!

Rick, thank you. Definitely dancing arms/hands :)
