Jackiedomi…
(1 item)
I found this bottle in my late mothers hope chest and want to know more about it all I know is it's 6 1/2 oz on its back it has a clock like symbol with a 10 2 4 it has corpus Christi L&W on the bottom thank you
Laurens Glass Works of S.C. made it.
Often they used 2 numbers to make a date-code. Because they used only one (a 3), I can only speculate, but the type of Dr Pepper bottle it is (with a period in Dr., which was removed in I think 1947) and being debossed (rather than embossed) in their art-deco style bottle, makes me think it dates to:
1943.
10 2 4 is 10 minutes to four, which was believed to be a time peoples' blood-sugar would crash, so it was the perfect time to drink a Dr Pepper.
Thank you so much ????
Nice bottle!
The Dr Pepper slogan is actually:
"Drink a bite to eat at 10 2 and 4"
Don't forget the Good For Life part.
