These are tiny but attractive to me due to their colour and stripes. These stripes are, to my mind, 'informal' as their width varies as the circumference of the vase varies.
Image two shows the stripes emanating from the centre of the base. This is usual for for Welz stripes. There are exceptions though......
In image four, where I've grouped some examples, you can see that the rigaree on this pair is the same as that on the tallest vase.
Height 11.6 cm./4.5 inches
The shape is great, and the shade of blue is outstanding. NIce ones!!
Thank you, Craig, and the examples of this stripe are slowly growing.
See! Welz is there again, fiddling with their tools, making lovely little additions. I adore them.
So very nice!
These are sweet! I love striped glass - you have a wonderful collection!
Of course, Karen, the rigaree itself can be an aid in identifying Welz......as long as you have other pointers too.
Thank you Deano, much appreciated.
IronLace, as to collections, backatcha :)
The color is gorgeous Peggy, but what really makes the piece, in my opinion, is the stripes! They are a beautiful, beautiful pair!
Thank you Rick. Stripes do seem to be less common than spatter décors, in Bohemian Welz, but they do exist. More next week!
Lovely, sklo! Honestly, apart from the handles, I don't think I would have said these were Welz at first. Such a gorgeous shade of blue, too. Thanks for the education on these! :)
Thank you Michelle. I really appreciate your comment..... :)
beautiful pair
Thank you kivatinitz, your comment is appreciated, as ever.
Thank you for the loves everyone.
