      Steam Boat Capt??

Oh I love this whole idea! You always do the greatest things...here is my guess. Steam boat captain to me is a no. Only because I feel his shoes would be shiny and clean. The photo itself is different to me too as it looks staged and is an outside setting, I think. (That looks like a dirt floor) He does not have overalls on but I think he may be a train engineer! That's my guess!

Could he be a railroad conductor?
    5. PostCardCollector PostCardCollector, 8 years ago
So far RR employee, Conductor/ Train Engeneer

I would go along with RR employee... he is wearing a pocket watch... too bad we can't see detail of the badge on the hat... if not RR, maybe a trolley or streetcar conductor.

RR employee; trolley conductor - I think most people wore pocket watches at that time?
