CDV CIVIL WAR ERA OR EARLIER GAUNT WOMAN IN GREAT DRESS WITH FASHION SLEEVES

The lady is not really in the best of health I think, due to her really sunken cheeks and not that old of a person. Times were tough, and if you need a shot of a wonder drug..well not yet known. I have a few photos of invalids and tuberculars and they too look like this .
Her dress is gorgeous and so interesting looking with magnificent styled sleeves with a big pleat in them.
Two photos are on. The whole back of the CDV is covered in a light gray checkered pattern which I have seen before the Civil War-- so the date could be before 1862. Backgound of the photo itself drab as a cell! Nothing in this photo to warm it. I hope the lady was actually well and got to wear the dress to many parties!!
