This came from a yard sale in Florida to the best of my knowledge. I still have tons and tons to learn about period pieces and jewelry in general. The brooch is approx. 3 inches by 2.5 inches The stone is approx. 1 inch by 1/2 inch. The pin itself extends past the C clasp. I find no marking on this piece. I did not clean it in any way before I took the pictures. Would love your thoughts. Thank you in advance.
Very pretty! This brooch is from the Victorian era -1837-1901 -as it has a tube hinge.

WOW!! Thank you for the information Efesgirl! It is super heavy as well.
Thank you for the video...I have so much to learn. :-)
You're welcome.
Is your Mystery solved?
Your brooch looks to be Arts and Crafts, which was from the period 1894 to 1923. Materials are copper and steel (the pin). The stone is likely to be glass.
Gorgeous!
You're brooch is in the style of a sash pin. I think it's likely to be base metal with gilt or gold tone. The citrine coloured stone is glass.
They were very popular in America. Not so much in other countries.
Here's some into on them here -https://www.morninggloryjewelry.com/sash-pins-buckles-jewelry-aid-39.html
