So this was a good find...fill a box for $5.00. I filled many boxes. The two folding knives are made in USA. #1 is Schrade 194OT Old Timer; #2 is Hammer Brand USA; #3 No markings wooden handle very thin steel blade aprox. 6" perhaps a fillet knife. #4 Ka-Bar 1380 USA "It's Unsinkable";#5 EXTRA HOLLOW Germany straight razor; #6 Edge Brand 499 SOLINGEN Germany appears to be Stag Handle; #7 Two 10" sharpening stones, corse and fine; #8 LORAY sharpener (very nice); #9 three glass cutters S&H No. XXX; #9 Chopping knife of Asian origin. Very nice steel. Has makings but I cannot tell if Japanese or Chinese, ect..Shank extends through wooden handle and it is built very solid. I'm really curious about the un-named very old knife. I would also like to know if anyone recognizes the Asian characters stamped on the blade so I might be able to date it. Thanks for looking. Mr. Rick
I have searched through many images of the un-named and un-marked knife which is very old. The blade is thin and pitted from rust. It was made to be flexible for cutting through fish like flesh or very tender meat. I'm getting the hang of the LORAY sharpener too. I really like the concept and can say that the finest of the stones is like a ceramic of some type ? I just know that I can sharpen to the extreme and actually shave hair on my arm !
Nice buy Rick, good luck with your search! :^)
I would like to go to where you shop. :)
