I finally was able to take pictures of a recent gift from my husband - a very pretty double gourd form vase by Loetz. My very first piece of Loetz over 15 years ago was also a double gourd form, and it is a shape that I really enjoy and am always drawn too. This piece is 8-1/2" tall, in Candia glass with a Papillon finish. I believe it is PN-7492 (rather than PN-589) since the paper pattern has 'candia Papillon' noted as one of the decors used on the shape. It dates to 1900.
Now thats so tasty especially in the form you show and what super gift fab Michelle your very lucky indeed !!!!!!!!
Thank you Malkey - this shape was borrowed from antique Japanese vases, and I just love it; I am glad you like it too. And yes, it was a very special gift - my husband is a sweetheart! :)
I need to have a word with my missus!!
Thank you, Phil - and good luck! ;)
The shape is indeed very appealing and the vase itself a wonderful addition to your collection.
Thanks so much, sklo! I feel lucky to have it. :)
Your hubby did good Michelle! Lovely colour and super shape!
Thanks so much, Rick! I am happy to hear that you like it. And yes, he really does spoil me. :)
Michelle... ;-D, I start to believe that he really enjoy your attraction for beautiful piece of glass, and what better than a companion that love glass as much as you do.
Priceless
Regards
Alan
Hi Alan, thanks so much! Yes, he really does enjoy my glass (especially the Rindskopf!) and I am very lucky to have him. I also enjoy the things he has introduced me to - I think that is what makes a great partnership. :)
