This Loetz vase was another gift from my husband; it is also in a Papillon finish, but a later version that was produced during the Art Deco era. The oil spotting of this Papillon decor is more distinct, and the silvery spots show up very well against the deep golden background. I particularly love the gorgeous iridescent yellow interior of this vase. It stands 6-1/2" tall and is marked with the Loetz oval mark, showing it was made after 1918.
Another corker Michelle & marked to tis a beautiful piece of glass butterfly's resound
Thank you, Malkey! :) It is so different from the earlier Papillon decor - this one is much brighter, and very butterfly-like for sure!
....now I REALLY need to have a word with my missus!
Phil, you made me laugh out loud. :)
'Cloth of gold' comes to mind......
Thanks so much, sklo - I appreciate your comment! :)
This is my favorite type of Papillon Michelle! I love the ones with the spots so well-defined. Hubby did good again. LOL
Thanks so much, Rick - it is my favorite type, too. :)
Beautiful, graceful, glowing!
Sammyz, thank you very much - I am glad you like it!
