I found this lovely lady at the thrift store. I don't think it's too old, but it is in great shape and the coloring is nice. This piece is large and heavy-probably around 13 inches. There are no markings on piece. Anyone familiar with this?
She is beautiful! I'd have bought her, too. Most of these date to within the first half of the 20th Century.
Yes, I really like her! Thanks for the comment Efesgirl!
i'd have picked her up and brought her home too, MrStyndall! although these are still reproduced today, this does look like it might be older.
Thanks, ho2culthca! I love asian porcelain
Great find lovely piece
Thank you for the comment, Master!!
She is part of a very large collection called "the Silk Road Collection" and "Masterpiece Collection." It is not the dark web where you can buy drugs, etc. I currently have 9 of them. The Silk Road dates back to the 2nd century (Hans Dynasty) through the late-19th century it was a 5,000 mile web of routes across land and sea. This started in Xi'an the capital of the Shaanxi Province and includes, Mongolia, Tibet, Tehran, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka Palmyra, Euphrates and Rome were the road ended.
She is a Shiwan Chinese ceramic/porcelain Lady Figurine. They are famille rose with vibrant colors and layered tones. They are typically cost from $62 to $250 each, depending on condition and whether they are a set and are approximately 11-inches tall . I have found several that are named, but not many. I read somewhere that there were 600 or more of these beautiful figurines. Check out "Art-sam" gallery.
Lilminks, thanks for the comment and info-you should post the ones that you have-would like to see others:)
