These five Czech spatter glass vases all feature an applied serpentine trail in cobalt blue.
All measure around 21.5 cm tall & have an integral four cornered footed base. They have various combinations of coloured spatter that is cased over with clear glass.
These are all from my early glass collecting days. I found my first example at a school fete, on the "white elephant" stall when I was still in my late teens. Amongst all the junk, it stood looking at me, & even though I knew nothing about glass at the time, I just knew instinctively that it was something good...& it only cost me $1. I got it home, cleaned off layers of dirt & even found an old, folded up piece of blank paper inside it. Some years later, I saw another one in the window of an antiques shop...it cost somewhat more, but still affordable for an art student. Then, over the following years, a few more examples until I put together this group.
Oooooo!!...do like these..specially as a group...:-)
Thanks so much, inky!
