    Good day everyone,
It's always relaxing to sit back and read a good book whether it is fiction or non fiction. This particular real life adventure book covers the struggles of man to beat the odds by surviving the natural elements of nature in an attempt to reach the summit of the mighty Mount Everest.
The author James Ramsey Ullman not only wrote books, editorials, etc. he also was an active climber who's dream of reaching the summit of Everest inspired him to write Kingdom of Adventure in 1947.
It took about 6 more years time before a climbing team finally reached the summit of Everest. The book did rekindle the interest of the public to follow the plights of different climbing teams with the same goal to finally reach the top of Everest.

Here is a short history of James Ramsey Ullman:
(1907 – July 5, 1971) was an American writer and mountaineer. He was born in New York City. The books he wrote were mostly about mountaineering and geography.

I love reading about mountaineering. This sport is much more than a mere physical exercise. I never was good at sports, but as a child I wanted be a mountaineer, lol !!!

You are so right martika mountain climbing requires not only strength and physical conditioning also keeping your wits about you at the higher elevations.
We all have childhood dreams I wanted to be a professional hockey player among other things:))
