These" are the first photographs of Lawrence Dale Bell's "Silver Bullet" - "V-E DAY" - P-39Q-1 Airacobra, ( P-400 ), GVII, -- silver and platinum -- brooch taken apart. ------ The second of two British Royal gifts, secretly presented to Lawrence Dale (Larry) Bell, founder of The Bell Aircraft Company, ( known as Bell Helicopter, a Division of Textron, known today as "BELL" ), by King Peter ll, godson of King George Vl and Queen Elizabeth l. ------ On May 7, 1945, Germany surrendered, and on May 8, 1945, Winston Churchill, on a nation wide radio broadcast, declared "VICTORY IN EUROPE" -- better known as "V-E DAY" -- This marked the end of World War Two in Europe. ---- Japan surrendered September 2, 1945, known as "VICTORY IN JAPAN" or "V-J DAY", this marked the end of World War Two, world wide. ---- The "V-E DAY" brooch, GVII, was presented to Lawrance Dale Bell in July, 1945. -- This was King Peter's second visit to the Wheatfield Plant of Bell Aircraft Company. ---- King Peter ll often filled the roll of "special envoy" for King George Vl and Queen Elizabeth l, making trips to foreign countries. ---- Neither of the two royal gifts were ever made public and both were placed in a special "Trust" at "The San Francisco National Bank", USA. Many years later, Lucille M. Bell, wife of Larry Bell, had both of the P-39 Airacobra brooches moved from San Francisco National Bank in California, to the Palm Beach National Bank in Florida. -------- Both brooches are currently located within The United States of America and remain in bank vaults. --------- The "Silver Bullet" or "V-E DAY", P-39Q-1 Airacobra brooch, GVII, was made of silver and platinum, with - drilled and tapped - "screw on" precision parts. It could very well be the largest, high quality, solid silver and platinum brooch in the world. ( designed for 360 degree viewing and inspection ) ---- ( This type of construction was extremely rare and unusual for this time period ) --- ( brooches made during this time period were usually designed for "one side" - "front side", viewing only ) ---- ( A true "Master Piece" of mechanical and mathematical engineering, combined with the highest level of jewellry making skills. ) ---- During World War Two, The Bell Aircraft Company specialized in designing and manufacturing cutting edge military aircraft for the United States Airforce, as well as the British "Royal Air Force", ( The British RAF ) ---- Both Lawrence Dale "Larry" Bell and King George VI were "Free Masons". ---- Approximately 1,100 fighters, ( P-400 ), were purchased by the United Kingdom's Royal Air Force, under King George Vl, Queen Elizabeth l, and Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, before and during World War Two. ------ The "star in circle", United States Air Force aircraft identification markings, and placement of these markings, indicate "North African assignment". ( During this time period the countries of North Africa were part of the United Kingdom.) -- Other aspects of complexity are not shown.--- research is on-going ----- For a more detailed historical and educational description - Google - Part 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 - The Bell P-39 Airacobra Brooches of Lawrence Dale Bell Founder of the Bell Aircraft Company. ---- Google - Part 10 The Bell P-39 Airacobra Brooches, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Joined in the research. -- Google - Part 9 The P-39 Airacobra Brooches - "Precious Metal Analysis" - conducted by the -- "Thermo-Fisher Scientific Corporation". -------- more to follow.
